Journey : Three things I am most grateful for : 2012

Three things I am most grateful for : 2012

 1st Graduation
My parents deserve the happiness and pride for all they’ve done for me. And I deserve the happiness to see them so happy.

2nd Japan
I wanted to visit the US because I was studying English. I wanted to go to Japan for Mount Fuji and India for Taj Mahal.
The first and the second came true.
I did everything I wanted to do in Japan, visited every place I wanted to visit, and met everyone I wanted to meet. It couldn't be better for me.

3rd Java – Bali – Lombok trip
It was all something that I’ve longed for. It is not backpacking at all, since that is just the way I usually travel, cheap and safe. And this was what my friend said when he heard the plan : Go ahead, do anything you want before you are married and have three kids.
Thanks Arend, the wisest advise ever. He does know that the time will come when I have to think about career, family, and other serious things. And this is not the time for that. I had my last two years working and studying at the same time in Jakarta and I tell you, it was not easy at all, and really? you still want me to think about work?
I started from Bandung, Jogja, Bali, Lombok, Gili, and went home through Surabaya. I ride a horse, went cave tubing, snorkeling, lying on the beach till my skin couldn’t get any darker, I read a book without knowing what it really is trying to say, hangout alot, eat alot, bike in bandung, Jogja, Bali, Gili (I biked in Lombok last september). Met strangers along the way, ate the weirdest fish ever, danced with fire dancers, met drug dealer kids, and went home. But as usual, I stay sober.

The second and the third points were the best graduation gifts. And to me, all of them were the best things a girl could ever have in her 24th year. To be honest, I don’t care if the world really ends in 2012. I had fun.

But wait, what about Taj Mahal? Probably the next get away. After that, the world may end.
